New Colors and Fun Accents!

I was in the car for several hours this past weekend...ok, lots of hours...and I took some of the new In Color 2010 paper and the new In Color markers! I LOVE having the markers when I am traveling as they are lightweight and compact and can be used on all stamps!!

I created the Dear Kind and Wonderful Friend card using the All Holidays stamp set, Perfect Plum DSP, Perfect Plum CS and Always Artichoke CS. Pretties kit and Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain.

I created the camping bear card for the Under the Stars stamp set, Bermuda Bay and Dusty Durango CS (2010 In Color) I colored the bear with the markers and did all the stamping using the new In Color Markers-Bermuda Bay and Dusty Durango.

The Thinking of you card was made using Baroque Motifs and Kind and Caring Thoughts stamp sets (LOVE the gingko leaves from this hostess set!!), Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, and Soft Suede CS (2010 In Color). All stamps were done with ink from markers, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede. I also used one of my most favorite accents, corduroy brads.

Finally the Old Olive CS "just for you" card was made from the Razzleberry DSP, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive CS and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (This is an awesome year round set!!) along with the Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain. I used the polka dotty texture plate on the old olive, the the scallop edge border punch and used the brad from Hodgepodge hardware to tie the knot. I also have pop up glue dots on the pumpkin pie base to give some lift.

You can order any of the products used to make these cards from my website 24 hours a day http://www.lea.stampinup.net/

Summer Hugs!

Please VOTE!

I am having a really hard time deciding which one I like best....the unfortunate part is the texturizing does not show up on the old olive or the night of navy very well! I have the harlequin texture on the top note old olive and I have the damask texture on the night of navy.

Which one do you like better? Which one is more masculine? Something to make it better? Leave a comment and choose the So Saffron or the Bravo Burgundy!

Fossil Rim Adventure

Happy Easter! We had such a relaxing weekend, along with a visit from Jess. She drove down from Baylor and spent most of the weekend with us going on our Fossil Rim adventure. We had such a great drive in the park and couldn't believe how many animals were so friendly. A little too friendly in some cases when they were coming in the car with us! I loved these shots most so posted them here, contact me if you want a link to all 500 photos I took!! I love to snap!

Easter Bunny Basket Scallop

I have received so many compliments on this I thought I would share even though the picture just isn't as cute as real life! She is just precious! I was admiring all the bunnies I saw with the oval punches and since I didn't have those, I used the circle punches and the scallop circle Big Shot die with the scalloped envelope die. My favorite is the heart nose in front of the choc chip whiskers!
Remember to celebrate Jesus too! : )
Happy Easter!

Quick Card Folder with Cards Gift Set

This folder and six card set was so much fun! It is for my friend Pam (P from the Lovely Letters set) who will be home for the next few weeks resting! This is so simple to make, using one 8.5 X 11 inch card stock, use bone folder to score down middle of long side, then score 3" above bottom edge on long side to create pockets. Decorate front as you like, add jumbo brads using the Crop-A-Dile and thread ribbon through to tie up in bow. The cards are made by using the Say It With Scallops Ronald McDonald House set, Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, along with Baja Breeze print papers and Riding Hood Red Ink. I also stamped a small medallion from the Baroque Motifs set in Baja Breeze on the envelopes in the lower left corner. Such a sweet touch and hope to bring our USPS people a smile!

Fun Projects.....Lots of Therapy too!

I just love these colors together, basic grey and baja breeze...I had so much fun playing with my Big Shot and the birds and branches die!! The paper out of the mini occasions is so fun too!! I made these bookmarks for my bible study class and the ladies LOVED them! I hope you do too! The pink pirouette Happy Birthday card was made using Bella DSP, felt flowers and riding hood red satin ribbon. I just love the pacific point color and felt the gatefold was perfect for the new Very Versatile set coming out on April 1. The left lane is for passing.....

So, I have finally created my blog...it's something I thought about for several months before actually gettin' 'er done. I live in the Dallas area...I drive for about 2 hours everyday on the freeway or parking lot, depending on time of day. It makes me crazy when people drive slowly in the left lane. I know, you say, well we are driving the speed LIMIT...yes, maybe so, but you are also causing major traffic congestion. Have you ever noticed how people are driving faster than you? Have you ever seen that line of cars stalled out behind you? Have you ever seen people passing you on the right, just to zoom back in front of you and move on down the road? If you haven't seen these things and are driving slower in the left lane, then open your eyes darlin' and look behind you with that rearview mirror installed front and center. You are the number cause of traffic jams in the heavy flow of traffic, you are a hazardous driver, and most importantly you are blocking the flow of emergency vehicles. Yes, I saw this one day as I was driving home. A person was driving in the left lane, an ambulance came upon them and they did not move over. I hope that if my family; or I am in that ambulance, you will get your slow happy butt over to the right or center lane and let it go by. I also hope that you are reading this and will make a decision to be a better driver by moving to the center lane, right lane or get off the freeway since you aren't staying with the flow of traffic. I see this every day and I also see why people get road raged....and trust me, a road raged, hormonal female is not good for anyone.
